If it's in your heart, then yes take the advice. But if you're not feeling it in your heart and feeling it's something you want to achieve, then you follow your heart. Only you can make yourself happy, and can achieve whatever goal you want to go for. But, if it's something you want in life, you have to go get it. :-) And only you.

I feel you should pray for guidance, and after praying you need to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. Everything a Christian does, whether it be actions or words, should be done with one purpose in mind, to glorify Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will guide you in this matter, follow His direction. I personally think that you should ask God what he would have you do with your poetry.Just as you have said to me ask God what to do and wait on his reply.Maybe by publishing your poetry it may be a way of reaching out to persons who need words of encouragement or a kind word to touch their heart.All i can say is put this question to God and await his response in your heart.
Thanks again for your advice with regards to my son.I have to really spend alot of time in prayer as things are very stormy right now and my son has now decided not to have anything to do with me.

it is a matter of "when" and not "whether" - as always the choice is yours. You have a sincere parishioner following here. I for one think you are "tough enough" to withstand the road you will have to take.
So "when" do you anticipate doing this?

I would do it if I were you.
I did self publishing with my poetry and circulate my publications through open mics and poetry slams. I knew I would never hit best seller standards, LOL...But there's something about seeing your words in print and having at least some type of demand for it.
