A person must be born in the United States and be at least 35 years of age. There is also a requirement that they have resided in the US for at least 14 years. (Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution)

the President has a FOUR YEAR residency in the White House, and his lease can be renewed ONLY ONCE. But the American public is fickle about who lives there, and will often not renew such leases.
