No, your gut feeling can be totally ignoring reality. Not everyone sends the right signals. If perhaps you are very good at reading body language, then maybe you can tell.

No. Gut feelings, like all feelings, can be incorrect, and be an indication of the secret wishes or fears of the feeler more than of the external reality of the situation.
