I notice, but dont know if they would.

I noticed that one of my contacts changed her avatar so that the only difference was no glasses. Her name was changed too, so it threw me at first, but I finally figured it out.

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I've watched all kinds of people change the way they answer and some cool people have just disappeared, or nearly. It makes sense to me though, because I know that I certainly have, several times. I had to leave for awhile, and may have to again, and my answering style seems to morph constantly. I was a pretty lousy answerer when I first started. I didn't mean to be but I was. Then I got better at it and I was super serious all the time. After I started making friends I would be sillier with some of them but I still held myself to a weird standard and there was a lot of stuff I wouldn't say on the board. Now I'm at a very strange point in my life, and for this summer the internet is nearly my only communication with other people, save for some frequent (and sometimes very long) phone calls from a friend. I've been much goofier and more open lately and I think it has unnerved a couple of people, which I guess is understandable. I'm kind of trying to shut that down a little bit and go back to just answering things that no one else has. I'd hate to alienate a bunch of people whom I like and respect just because I'm feeling extremely impulsive at the moment.

Only occasionally have my contacts said something to me when I've changed my avatars. When I find one I like I stick with it for at least 4-5 months.

Yes, they usually notice. And the trolls that follow me around to harass me always notice, as well.

If yore word "avatar" was instead the word "underware", the answer would be yes...and they'd be glad!

I think so...I am always changing my hair and clothes.....I would love to find a avatar that looks like me......but blond and blue eyes and glass's is the closest I can come....now if they only had fat avatars.....I would be all set....lol
