My children love and respect me. My wife trusts me.
My grandkids like to have me around. All of them
accept my desire to be alone at times of my choosing.
All my bills are paid. I help others.
Above all, I have the characteristic trait that Rafael
Sabatini attributed to his Scaramouche:" he was born
with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was
mad."
THAT's contentment!

Through all the trial and tribulations of living and learning by my mistakes in life I feel my life has been a success.

By being successful, I don't mean that I am rich.

I live a simple life and I have the love of my family and my Hubby of 50 years and we enjoy every moment we have together.

I like and respect myself and I'm thankful that I learned to conduct my life in a manner, to build good memories.

Now at the age of 72, I find myself living those memories and I can't ask for anything more than that.

Just above my computer is a gift my daughter gave me for Christmas. She knew it was one of my favorite quotes and I would like to share it with everyone.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

As of late, I have many, take my breath away moments and that's contentment for me.

Thanks so much for the question and the thoughts that derived by it.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE"

Contentment to me means that I am happy where I am. Sometimes it is just watching the birds fly and listening to their calls. Relaxation that has nothing to do with anything but my mind. Listening to children play and laugh is very good for my soul.

Contentment for me is knowing that my sons, their wives and my sweet grandchildren are all well and happy.

Just feeling safe and at peace . At night, climbing up into my
(it's high off of the floor) nice cozy bed with a good book, or a new magazine, my two little fluffball pups, and not having knee pain like I have had for the past 5 yrs. Knowing that all of my four children are really, really happy in their lives. I prayed for so long and so hard that that would happen before I passed away, being able to finally accept that I am a senior, ( it was very difficult for quite a while back a year or so ago, to wake up and feel joy each day, acceptance of where I am in my life and acceptance of who I am, and to know I am loved.

How I am now...although retired ..I've worked hard all day with livestock. They are now bedded down on fresh straw, warm to face the night on full belly's. Now I'm in here aching but ...content.
