Perhaps they have never tried it or perhaps they were self diagnosing and chose the wrong remedy. Also most people do not realize that homeopathy is a specific methid of natural medicine and mistakenly lump all natural practitioners under the label homeopath.

Ther person who suggested that homeopathy was banned in Germany is wrong. Homeopathy is far more common in Western European countries than in the U.S. In fact, homeopathic remedies are usually found in every pharmacy, you don't have to search out a natural food store to find them.

Many hospitals and medical schools in Germany actually incorporate homeopathic remedies with their conventional medical treatment and training.

Homeopathy is very specific and it is most effective when you have the help of a trained practitioner to select a remedy. If you have a symptom like a headache, it is not like everyone takes one remedy for a headache. The practitioner looks at the specific type of headache and places it into the context of your entire body and chooses the exact remedy for you. Chosen well, the remedies can be miraculously effective.

I once saw a homeopath for a sinus problem and she asked very specific questions like is it better with heat or cold, movement or rest....once she had it narrowed down to 2 different remedies she asked me if I had a small patch of dry skin behind my left ear and I did! What that had to do with a sinus infection, I will never know but that was the deciding factor in which or many possible remedies to take. I took it and it worked, no side effects.

People think homeopathy is ineffective because they are uneducated and closed minded. When taking one's health into consideration all areas of treatments and options should be explored.

Sometimes homeopathy is ineffective. Sometimes modern medicine, such as antibiotics and surgery, are also ineffective.

Americans tend to want instant fixes for their complaints; we want to be healthy, slim, toned, have larger bosoms and penises, longer hair, and perfect skin, and we want to have them NOW. We want to be able to take some pills for a week and then be perfect.

I have had complaints that homeopathic medicine addressed. I have had complaints that traditional medicine addressed. Many peoples' "mistake" is that they think ONLY modern medicine or ONLY homeopathic remedies work. We have always taught our nursing students to allow patients to combine patients' cultural practices (such as homeopathy) with modern medicine for the best results.

Because it relies on the impossible. And just because something has been used for years doesn't mean it works so you might want to rethink your argument.

It's funny, modern medicine evolved and life expectancy shot through the roof. All those years of effective homeopathy apparently couldn't do that. The effects of homeopathic "remedies" are equivalent to the placebo effect.

homeopaths fill an important niche, but they cannot do everything that a Medical doctor can, just as a medical doctor does not have the same knowledge that a homeopath has, both are valid, and seen in concert, both can help to improve or maintain one's health.
