ok so im 16 and my mother was all up on the fact that i should learn some resposibilty because supposidly im spoiled and such i got this job at a coffee shop and i got forced to resign because i didnt show up for a shift because i was sick, with strep throat. i think its rediculious i was kinda sad anyone else have this happen

Seems strange that they would fire you for being sick one time.

If you have never been sick before and you had an doctor's statement that you were sick then they can not fire you at all whatsoever also if you never have been late or called off. You need to contact the Equal Employment Opportunity or aka EEO if there was no practical reason why they fired you.

Mom's usually right about these things. Strep throat and they didn't believe you? Let me guess: no doctor visit? Unless you want to work in a string of diners until you're 75, start pressing the nose to the grindstone now and study.
