When I was 12, I started exhibiting OCD symptoms. I would pray for upwards of 4 hrs/night and everything had to be just so or I'd have to start it over so my family didn't die. I had to touch everything in a series of 3 or go back to it etc. Also around this time, I started feeling this amazing natural high. It was as if I could do anything... like I was invincible...not to jumping off of a building, but you know...unstoppable.

The OCD symptoms mostly (except for a few that don't interfere w my life) were gone by age 17 but now at 27, I still get these highs sometimes. They last quite a while...sometimes for days but I have never really felt depressed a day in my life unless I was going through one of my OCD onsets.

Anyone else experience this?

It sounds like you are contented with your current life experience and have no need to feel sad or depressed.

You are in a good place. Try to keep yourself grounded in this positive state as long as you can.

Of course, you will eventually hit some bumps in the road, but, that's in the future. Right now, you're on a natural high.

OCD like you know is a issue with morality and our natural instincts to NEED to control these things. Usually the natural flow is to let life determine your direction, but with OCD we get to use our wonderful ability to make superstiutions (to control our world objectivly) to create a reality were we see that we have control, this is INPOWERING! I've met a few ocders in my time and a common issue they all have is extreme social anxiety, ooo they can be happy, but boy do they have a hard time be honest emotionally. But your dance with OCD has given you an ideology that always you at sometimes in yoru life to view yourself as a powerful creature in it, a natural thing, you've just perversed it (no insult a term for changing the natural tendency of something, like homosexuality, its not wrong, just off the natural trail a little) that its assoicated with your OCDing. Nothing wrong here, like the last guy was saying. But understanding why would help you understand better how you balance the animal side (the true creator of your ocd) and your human side (the side that gives up, shuts up, and does what it needs) towards a natural means, thriving in your life. Really the whole fields of psychology and socialogy are just now getting into these waters, but alas what can you do with a field thats been to immersed in drugin its patients, then treating them, apparently you found away to do it yourself ;-) but your ocd is STRONGLY leak with your depression states, because they how you control them, its what created it, full circle hunnie, full circle
