It seems that all the presidential candidates, dem and rep both, have gotten the message, decalring all illegals free citizenship will result in a political death penalty.
OK, it's fair to say that the citizens in general oppose giving illegals free citizenship (or minor hurdles like small fines and license fees).
So, what ideology opposes sealing the borders?
What ideology wants to give illegals citizenship?
Once you figure out who that is, you will have identified who is the real enemy to every American.

The ideology that opposes sealing the borders and giving illegals citizenship is called stupidity!!
They don't understand or care that once you give up your border, language and culture you have given up the core structure of your country. Most who those who want to give this country away, I hate to say it are the liberals, and corporate greed, it's nice to have slave labor, it improves your bottom line.
Our country is like the nice guy that befriends someone who has fallen on hard times, you take them in and then they bleed you, that's what's happening, we as Americans can not get the free medical care that illegals get, and that's a fact!!!!

If you think you could actually "seal" the border between the USA and Mexico, take out a map, look it over real careful like, then get a hammer, and keep hitting yourself in the head until you realize that this kind of a "plan" is totally impossible.
Once you realize, however painfully, that this talk of border sealing is merely political rhetoric and race-baiting, you can focus on actual workable solutions and drop the "holier than thou" clap-trap patriotic nonsense.

I would say industries such as the meat packing industry are outrageously happy to have the cheap labor to exploit. Illegal immigration is problematic, but as I drive by the border in El Paso and see the shacks across the river I would be lying to myself if I believed I would not be trying to get across that river, and continue coming no matter how many times I was sent back. Numerous illegal have died in the desserts out here trying to make it. I disagree with it but I don't want to judge them for it either, They are humans just as we. I think the employers who hire them should be punished, I think the best course of action is to take away the perceived opportunity so they will not want to come here, but to do that I guess we would all have to move into shacks ourselves.

It is in the interest of employers (read corporations) to keep wages depressed. A constant supply of illegal workers accomplishes that goal.
If the penalties and fines against companies that hire illegals were swiftly enforced the incentive to hire cheap illegal workers would be eliminated.

Just look at how ploiticians voted for the last amnesty bill that failed. It took John McCain a verbal beating over the head by voters and 6 months after to realize that Americans did want amnesty.

Politicians know what we the people want. But do you see it happening? See any bills being passed to get the illegals out? Money being spent on it? See the wall being built? Me either. So, you are right in saying promoting amnesty is political death but doing nothing is just as bad. The only accomplishments are getting done at the local level. it just sucks.
