Why do you nit-pick?
I woke up this morning around 4:15am to get ready for work. I needed to warm up the truck before I left. I know my husband has asked me not to leave the truck running for more than 10 mins, so understanding this request, I timed it. But as the truck is running, my husband felt the need to wake up to ask me how long the truck was running and I replied not very long... well he instantly rebutted and stated that he was lying awake counting the minutes and it was longer than 10 mins. And of course while making my breakfast for work, I am watching the clock on the stove and replied, that I was timing it. (felt like saying wtf a-hole, why the hell do you have to ride my *** at 4am over this little piece of BS).

Tell him you'll warm the car up for as long as you want to.

My wife would expect me to go out and start the car for her -- if she worked. He should consider himself lucky.

People nitpick based on their own shortcomings.

My husband warms up the car for me if I'm running late, and I do it for him if he's behind schedule. Of course, we're both mature adults!

If this is such a major issue between you two, keep an egg timer by the door and set it for ten minutes. (Mine rings so loudly that it could easily awaken the dead!) When your timer goes off everyone in the neighborhood will know with ten minutes has past! :o)

People who nit-pick often have something else about the relationship that's bothering them but they lack the nerve or communication skills to talk about the real issue. I think it would do you well to have a sit-down, speak-up time and get to the real problem(s) in the relationship.

Little things,,,add up. Why is he so freaking paranoid about the truck? is beyond me. I could care less. However, leaving a damp towel on my side f the bed, really tick me off,,so,,yeah,,,marriage!!! what a beautiful choice!
