Yes it is.
The BNP is primarily concerned with freedom of speech, immigration, withdrawal from the EU and favours limited National Service.
These are all the issues that the British people are most vocal about and exactly the issues the major parties avoid.
Theres an ongoing smear campaign lead by the big three, the camps who are rapidly losing ground to the BNP.
Of course there are quite a few liberal lefties who are taken in by the black propaganda, but as time goes on their own lives will become adversely affected and they will take off their blinkers.
I would insist that no one with any sense ,who has actually read the BNP manifesto (99.999% have not) can fault their agenda.

It could well become if the main party's treat sensitive issues as taboo, and fear stepping up to the plate and defending the basic principles of free speech

I have not seen it's membership figures so I don't know. Judging by the comments on YA its support does seem to be growing. My view is. that the reason for this is the growing disillusionment and disaffectation being felt by the electorate. The main issues of concern affecting the majority are being ignored or paid lip service to by the three main parties. The BNP are at least prepared to put their head above the parapet and actually say what they think. Were it not for their blatant racist viewpoint they could possibly increase their members numbers significantly. UKIP should be gaining the most support, their manifesto does address the issues but without the BNPs underlying (or blatant depending on your view) hatred of non-white non-Brits.

About a year ago The Times interviewed Nick Griffin and it was claimed to be, but even on that count it didn't amount to much. Griffin's wife is a member and even she didn't agree with him if my memory's right. You'll be giving people ideas if you keep this up.
edit: have you been to any gatherings yet? It's your choice, but get to know the rank and file before commiting yourself. There used to be a meeting place near the flat when I lived in S London, law & order my eye, a dangerous night to be on the streets.
