I've always had an appreciation for divination, magical history after all is littered with occurrences which were predicted by prophecies made by famous seers, I admit it is a personal belief of mine that prophecies should not be taken lightly and that they prove useful in altering the future for the "better". However, being a seer is one inborn ability that I for all my great power, and skill I, do not posses. So what use would divination ever be to me?

...I can't help but be amused when speaking of the other two choices. To think of the abdominal specimens which have walked the halls of Hogwarts as so called Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, I'm sure it keeps Dumbledore if not regretting then, at the very least lamenting certain choices he's made in the past in regards to whom he would hire. *high pitch laugh* Then again if I was so many decades younger that I should have them as professors they would never have had the position. Although yes, I do understand you're merely asking the question for the challenge of coming up with the best choice when they're all poor. Frankly for me it wouldn't have made a difference, they're both, fairly predictable and very easy to manipulate. Although professors facilitate learning, all you needed to acquire the knowledge is within your textbooks and Hogwarts' library. You do as they ask, and you learn on your own accord. However I suppose in the end Lockhart is most convenient you're at least openly aloud to practice magic within the class room, he may be an incompetent wizard but, I understand that he stole, the information from others? Well stolen information is just as valuable as any other, and not to mention top marks would be as easy as writing an essay about how much I would want to be just like him.

P.S. You have a great line up of Harry Potter questions! Please don't resolve them just yet. :)

Sadly I would rather take divinations, because Trelawney isn't a total fraud. And Lockhart is some pretty boy who wants the fame and doesn't care how he gets it.

I'd go with Defense taught by Lockhart. Sure, he was incompetent, but at least he wasn't nearly so harsh with the class. You could actually learn something by watching how not to do it.

Probably Divination. At least then I'd be learning something...even if it was all bull. Lockheart's a danger to society, to be honest. Plus, we know that Trelawney actual IS a seer...just not a very...powerful one...

~~*EDIT*~~

Oh god...Lockhart over Umbridge, definitely. In fact, ANYONE over Umbridge (Dumbridge) any day.
