Isin't this an act of patriotism, to protest against the government, since it is your money they are using?

Isin't this patriotic under the rights of life and liberty?

Why does the government keep using 'support to troops' to rally the idea that its unpatriotic to be anti war?

ash, I know how you feel. I have been to Iraq twice as an Infantry Marine, and I am anti war as well...
I'm also tired os seeing the state use 'support our troops' as a peice of political propaganda.
Support the troops doesn't mean throw us into the far middle east for the spead of democracy.
Our ideas should be set and spread by example, not force.... Isint THAT how most other countries became democracies? Free? ..because they followed our example!

If you need links... sad, and you don't even know whats going on in your own country. But your probably looking for propaganda filled media articals, YouTube is a reliable source because it holds no political agenda and is a free source or many voices... both pro-war and anti-war

What MEU were ewe in? Don't use the "Infantry Marine" to get sympathy.

I worked when Anti-War protesters were in L. A., they have a set of rule and route to follow. They know if they are violating the law by inciting a riot or get off the route they are told, they will be arrested. The video you showed is just like the Rodney King video, you only showed what happened when the police get involved in the arrest, but did not show what the protesters were doing to get them self arrested.

It is okay for you to be anti-war as a former Marine. That is good, because war should not be upheld as anything good or promoted. But if it is the final option that the government have to protect the interests of American freedom, so be it. Granted that there are some mistakes made during an operation of a war, that does not mean it should be abandoned.

If you think that when you joined the Corp, you were expecting to be in the Marines without the possibility of going to war, you are stupid on your part.

Just like those so called "conscientious objectors" even when they volunteered for the military, they are nothing but chicken shiite, not objectors.

You are allow to protest whether you are for or anti-war. There are rules to follow. You should know if you were in the Marines, ROE, you should know about that.

Sure. You can protest. But, you can't block public thoroughfares to do so. And when the police order you to disperse and clear the thoroughfare, you do so or face arrest. Because, in exercising your right and blocking that thoroughfare, you trample on my right to use it to get from one place to another.
And you have the right to attend any public meeting of any governmental body. But, if that meeting space is already filled beyond a capacity deemed safe by fire authorities, then you can't add more people to the room and you can't "beef" the officer who asks you to move away from the exit doors of that room to make it safe for people to evacuate in case of an emergency. That might subject you to arrest as well.
If you want to change people's minds about this war, then dress up, clean up and act with the utmost decorum. Don't play the "in your face" game, trying to provoke the police so someone can produce yet another video with underlying music. Don't parade a bunch of people who were "chaptered out" of service while still in basic training as "Veterans Against the War". The real veterans are getting real tired of seeing those cry babies and phonies. And, above all, don't engage in any violent acts. It borders on ultimate hypocrisy to protest and decry the violence of war while carrying out acts of violence yourself.
If you do that, you might get some attention and change some policies. Take it from someone who did protest and go to jail in Georgia many years ago from a civil rights "sit-in" at a library that wouldn't issue a library card to an African-American. I've been there and done that. And the ones on the videos you cited are doing it all wrong!

It is quite unfortunate, it is happening and the media shows none of it. It is quite patriotic indeed to protest, they just dont want change

All part of the 'soft' fascism that passes for patriotism these days.

Speaking as a soldier and an Iraq Vet. It made what we were doing over there seem a little easier to be given our peoples support. We don't want to be there either, we don't want to get deployed. We'd rather be at home w/our family and loved ones. But it makes it harder when americans our protesting by stopping movements. If we have to go we just want to get it over w/and come back! Some of these peaceful protestors are doing more damage then good. Trust me I am anti war I think this whole thing needs to stop but it's the way you handle it that matters.

Would help if you provided sources.

If you are referring to those imbeciles who protest at soldier's funerals I would tend to agree that not only is it un-patriotic but class-less as well.

We have a right to protest and as long as those rules are followed it is a lawful protest. There are permits and other arrangements that need to be made, i.e. security, etc. But I do like how you are complaining when protestors in Myanmar were shot at with assault rifles by government troops. Far cry from what you are talking about here.

Check out the rules regarding new laws about protesting.
