the rolling stones' song "jumping jack flash", seems to me to be referring to the turbulence between ireland and the crown. a "jumping jack" was also a nickname given to a "bouncing betty", an anti-personel mine.(m14-m16). also a "bouncing betty" was a nickname also given to a certain grenade round fired from a grenade launcher. grenade launchers can be used to fire tear gas cannisters for riot control. also the lyrics(maybe)refer to the queen, or the crown, as a toothless bearded hag. have a listen or look up lyrics and then see what you think. i know that the band itself says the lyrics were just words strung together, but then, someone like mick jagger who i think was knighted, wouldn't exactly say publicly that they supported the irish movement would they?

Yes, you could be right but, you could be just as wrong as well.
Here is something that you might want to consider when ruminating on such questions.
Who cares?

Ireland is a totally differnet country and the irish republic is not part of the UK, so there fore really doesn't have much turbulence to the crown. The north of Ireland is part of the UK but under law Ireland didn't have to join the UK

JUMPING JACK FLASH
(Jagger/Richards)

Watch it!

I was born in a cross-fire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain,
But it's all right now, in fact, it's a gas!
But it's all right. I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash,
It's a Gas! Gas! Gas!

I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag,
I was schooled with a strap right across my back,
But it's all right now, in fact, it's a gas!
But it's all right, I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash,
It's a Gas! Gas! Gas!

I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead.
I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled.
I frowned at the crumbs of a crust of bread.
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I was crowned with a spike right thru my head.
But it's all right now, in fact, it's a gas!
But it's all right, I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash,
It's a Gas! Gas! Gas!

Jumping Jack Flash, its a gas
Jumping Jack Flash, its a gas
Jumping Jack Flash, its a gas
Jumping Jack Flash, its a gas

Ireland is another country if its people wanted to be not part of the UK. The Irish people had the right under the principles of International Law.
