I too am going through the menopause and have tried many remedies.I am currently taking a simple soya supplement from Boots the chemist and i am astounded at how effective they are against hot flushes and sweats. You don't have to look for a top brand but as long as soya is the main ingredient it would be worth you giving them a go.Some medications do not interact well with HRT and that's why you have been taken off them but do not suffer in silence.Often for us women it is trial and error to find the right remedy for us.I also tried black cohosh an red clover but neither were as good as soya.It won't work overnight so persist and you should have relief within a week or two.Good luck.

HRT is known to raise your risk to experiencing a DVT. This may be why your Dr has requested that you stop taking it, especially if the two make you even more prone to getting a DVT.

It may be worth looking at the other drawbacks too. Take a look at Net Doctor and type in the type of HRT that you were on.

Some GPs just don't like HRT at all. If you have had a blood test and you hormone levels were too high, then he may have wanted to reduce them down again, also some forms of HRT work better with some people than others.

Try Evening Primrose Oil, check that it will be fine to take along with Reprinal. Then try Adez a new soya drink with fruit juice, the only way I can drink soya. I am probably now menopausal, unless I have a period January 2008, 12 months with no period so that will be it. I have not been on HRT, seemed to have no menopausal symptoms probably because I have been on evening primrose oil for ten years. Good Luck.
