Charlie is such a cool name for a boy. I just had to say that.
Anyway, I haven't seen the movie, how is her name pronounced, Lee-ra or Lie-ra? Lee-ra (Lyra) is pretty, I agree. But Lucy is such a cute, classic name. I'm not sure why you chose to combine Lucy with Evie? I don't think that goes, but that's my opinion. I once knew a little girl named Lucia (after a relative, if she were a boy she'd be Luke) -- but she didn't like her name nor the nickname Lucky, so she went by "Luke". I thought it was an unusually cool name for a girl. Though she'd get a bit of the confusion and maybe a tiny bit of teasing, but not too much -- kids learned to know her as that.

If you can't decide... You could always name another child Lyra or a pet Lyra or save the name for a new baby niece to be Lyra, or a friend's child. But really this decision is up to you about the name of your own baby, and now's the time if you're going to change it. Just stick with something once you do.

Oh no don't change it, Lucy-Evie is gorgeous!
Lyra is okay but sounds made up, a bit of a fad name, go with what you already wanted.

Just the fact that you are having second thoughts makes me think you should change it. What ever channels you have to go through it will be worth it! By the way, Lyra IS a lovely name...don't forget to go with your heart!

I DONT KNOW THAT LUCY-EVIE FLOWS WELL BUT BOTH NAMES ARE PRETTY. I WOULD STICK WITH WHAT YOU GAVE HER AND JUST CALL HER LUCY. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!

I absolutely love the name Lyra. I haven't seen the movie yet (I heard it was horrible actually) but I read the first book :)

Lyra Cheyenne
Lyra Grace
Lyra Sophia

Or you could name her Lyric and Lyra can be her nickname.

Good luck!

I personally think Lucy is an adorable name! And i think the name would mean more to her if you guys picked it out rather than telling her that after she was born, you saw a movie and changed her name. But, Lyra is a very pretty name and it is unique. Maybe you could save it incase you ever have another girl?
But your the parents, and your opinion is the most important!

Congratulations and Good luck!!!

Well, if you like that name then I would change it to that. Its whatever you want the name to be. If you love it then name her that.

Have you already done the birth certificate? Because if you do then it is going to be a lot of trouble to change her name. If not then you can still change it pretty easily, just by changing your mind. Just don't let it go too long before you make a final decision.
