A FFXII Question?

Going throught the feywood into the south of the feywood passed the strong mist, at the end there is a gate, which says: to the hold of GIGAS this power is yours to have or something like that, so the person who has/controls GIGAS could open the gate door.

Now, my question is, where do I find and kill GIGAS?

If I remember correctly, it's been a while, I think that you have to summon one of your espers to open the gate. Possibly the fire guy? You don't have to kill anything.
