Save an empty coffee can to enclose these items before discarding them.
edit: Tom is right on. I forgot about labeling the can.

Recycle!!
Use an empty Tic Tac box for small items, like shaving/razor blades, sewing needles, broken/rusty safety pins.
When it's full, I put a piece of duct tape over the top, to prevent it from opening, and toss it in the trash.
They can, also, be used to store useable pins and needles.
The clear box makes it easy to locate in the sewing kit.

Any small plastic or metal container will hold them, such as an empty bleach bottle or a coffee can. Make a small hole in the lid so you can just drop them in. When it gets full, throw it out in the garbage.
Put a label on it with something like "sharps", "used blades", etc so that you will know what is inside and not accidentally reach into it.
Be very careful handling sharp objects like needles and blades, as they can carry dangerous diseases.

Yes, to the coffee can, but label it SHARPS and check with the local solid waste district or recyclers about how to properly dispose of them.
