The accent is a bit harsh-sounding. But, it's only loud if the person speaking is yelling.

from new york, but i don't think it's the accent you're hearing as loud and obnoxious some of the people are just loud and obnoxious.

not that much..ok I will admit that my sis in law has a VERY annoying loud voice, she is an Italian new yorker and I dont care for her much- that is why, not for her being Italian or from New York, just that she is a mean beast
