I have one, must be dry clean only! I get mine cleaned twice a year, spring, and fall, if I am sick, cold and so on, then more often. It is also good to air down comforters out if you have a chance. I hang mine sometimes over the garden chair in the summer. Good Luck! Happy New Year!

No, that's fine. Throw in a couple of new tennis balls or old, clean canvas shoes with the wash and then when you dry, add 2 clean and dry bath towels with the comforter and tennis balls. That will help fluff the comforter as it dries. The towels will help absorb water so it dries quicker and more evenly.

You can wash a comforter in your machine providing it has enough room for water to circulate. If you have a low water setting I would recommend that since the comforter will need less water than a load of towels. Personally I would take it to a laundromat with a blanket machine to avoid the possibility of flooding my laundry room. To refluff when drying toss in a Wiffle ball ( the plastic kind with holes). Good Luck!

Feathers can get wet, but what about the covering of the feathers? Is it silk? Satin?
Go ahead and wash it if it isn't one of these fabrics. Give it an extra rinse too.
