I will have a household of three with an income of about 1,000.00 per month because I go to school as well. With my son that I have now we receive 240.00 per month. Does anyone know how much more I will get with another baby?

No *&%$#, this is not my motivation to have another baby. And if it were it wouldn't be any of your business.

And to you, Ms. mommatobe: I have plenty of self respect. I do what I have to do to take care of my children. I do not come from a rich family. I do not have people handing cash out to me. I work part time at a law office and am going to school to be a paralegal. I do not abuse the system and won't be on food stamps for very much longer. So the best thing for you to do is answer the question, not voice your opinion.

Another thing, I did not plan on getting pregnant and YES I took the correct precautionary measures to avoid it. But it happened. So now I have to deal with it. True, I didn't need another child at this point in my life but abortion nor adoption was an option for me. So I'm not out here popping out kids that I can't take care of. But I'm not out here getting pregnant and killing them either. I accept my responsibilities and deal with them.

How about working harder to make more money so you don't have to worry about things like this? And don't have more kids until you can afford them yourself?

Don't you have any self respect?

Ok, I know what it's like, I've been there. And when I got a job paying $6.50 an hour they told me I made too much money to receive help and cut me off completely. My suggestion is to get out asap. It's a big trap. Stay in school and get whatever degree you are getting...Good for you for doing that, you are doing much more then most people on welfare. I always looked at it like 'I paid my taxes as an investment for moments like these' so don't let anyone put you down for it!!

But how much more you will get does depend on state and county. You really have to ask your social worker. No one but him or her can answer that question.

I don't think there is a specific way to figure that out unless you call your case worker. They have different ways of figuring out how much a person should get depending on the income and everything, which you know. Some states mights be different too. I have just below $1000 income per month and I receive about $580 per month but there are 5 people in the family. If you figure it out that way you only average about $80 per person and I average over $100.

I'm just gonna add on here.....for those of you who don't recieve food stamps....some people recieve them because they hit a hard time in their life and cannot afford to feed their children. You don't have a choice as to how muc you recieve. If you ask for food stamps to feed your child they are going to give you food stamps for the whole family. Its not about getting "free" food. Its about doing everything possible to feed your children. Remember that not all people on public or state assistance are losers

I have no idea...I thought WICK was for pregnant women and babies until age 2. Maybe call your worker and find out.

Varies by the state. They will also have you get WIC, so your amount may be less. Some states give you nothing more for an additional child (except WIC) if you became pregnant after you started receiving welfare (unless disabled).

In my state, it varies by county as well. Some of the counties have commodity disbursements (like cheese), so give less food stamps.
