When do we have time for that? We have to watch American Idol and "Must See TV". What, you want us to give up our TV and Internet porn to fight for our freedom? You ask too much.

Seriously, I think most people just don't care anymore. Many do, but not enough to make a difference. We won't rise up and stop the massacre of our children (abortion). If we don't even care about the lives of our children, what makes you think we'd care enough about anything else to make changes?

I think the 1 and only issue that could trigger an uprising would be an attempt to repeal the 2nd Amendment. Any other rights we loose we can get back by force of arms (worst case scenario). Without our guns, then we loose all our rights and have no way to get them back, ever.

We are too far right at this time with the added problems of war and unrest in many countries. Even though people seem quite hateful of the opposing party these days, it is necessary to go in the other direction after 8 years of one party or the other. Too much of anything is not good.

I think that is why the Clinton years worked well for the U.S. Clinton tried very hard to work with the Republican House and some centrist programs were forged for the good of the country. He was not a far left president in his policies. I am sure he made mistakes, as all presidents do, but I think that balance worked well overall.

I think the problem with picking a candidate this time around is that there is no incumbent. We are facing some serious issues and nobody knows what to really expect from any of the candidates. It is even difficult for most of them to separate themselves among the other candidates of the same party.

No----The apathy is too deep and has been brought on by an education system that teaches---feel good attitude----no patriotism--no history--and me,me,me with no compassion for others by letting the government take care of things.Heretofore Americans have always risen up and corrected the course of government but at this point the control is almost total---mostly done with our monetary system.

You need to take a longer view of American history - we have been swinging back and forth between the wishes of these two opposing platforms since our beginning. We are currently about as far right as I care to be...

Public services are failing: consumer product & food inspection, disaster readiness and relief...
Public rights are being eroded: communication privacy (within the US, too), right to trial.
Public oversight into government is being refused:
Government aid is being spent on multinational corporations with obscene profits and cut on poor individuals.

veering left is heading towards communism. Veering right is going towards fascism.....I think we need to find another direction to head in. How about up?
