I still have all of my 10 fingers!

Seriously though, ours was as good as we planned it. Unlike last Christmas where we had a grand party for 60, New Year was spent with just our immediate family (and all of the families in our clan, those who attended the grand Christmas party, were also at their own homes, with their families).

We watched the fireworks display courtesy of our neighbors (I never lit fireworks all my life) and then kissed each other at the stroke of 12, followed by a light noche buena of breads, cheese, ham, and salads, and hot chocolate de batirol for drinks. My first alcohol-free New Year celebration.

At 1am, we were in our bedroom to sleep, with the airconditioning on even before the fireworks were started, to keep the smoke and the fumes out of our bedfroom.

Woke up and, driver-less, drove my wife and daughter to have breakfast in a beautiful, just opened garden cafe in Tagaytay (near SVD). Went back home to Alabang, passing by Manila Memorial Park first to visit our departed loved ones. Thye rest of January 1 was spent in light banter with my family. Beautiful way to start 2008.

Wonderful! Although it's a bit tiring because of the preparations but absolutely wonderful especially I'm celebrating it with my family. My father dear made it just right on time before New year's Eve since he just came back from abroad. Happy New Year to all! <*-*>

Festive. Full of merrymaking. So many food on the table. Many cases of beer and bottles of wine already downed and still the party isn't over.
