Some people just have a high metabolism and will burn off calories. I have been wanting to gain some weight for years.
I eat everything my weight challenged friends eat. But still gain nothing. I am not sure of any surefire ways to gain. But I would try some of the health center type weight gain formula shakes, or search the net for muscle mass builders or other such things.

Well I did a lot of weight lifting and eat a lot of meat and protein. Ideally you want your weight to be based on muscle, rather than fat which is just bad for you as it collects around the heart and so on. You can build muscle by doing weights. Cycling is pretty good for the legs and if you want to stay away from the miss muscles look then cycling builds up the largest muscles in the body, calves thigh and your buns.
For a woman it's important that you keep up the fat levels as this may start to affect your menstrual and ovulation cycles all of which require quite heavy caloric input.
I am a little concerned that you are asking Yahoo, Your doctor or local nurse should help you with nutritional information and ideally are the best source of uptodate and relevant information. If you do eat Peanut butter as a previous asnwerer has mentioned then please ensure that you drink plenty of water. Protein digestion requires a lot of water which would normally be taken from the lining of the gut, and in turn supplied by the Fat of your body. If you are underweight, you do not have these reserves and so you must, absolutley must drink plenty of water.
Hope this helps.

I am wondering
#1: if you are a bony 110 lbs
& #2 Why now at 26 years old?....
I would say more meats, proteins from dairy foods, as well as the veggies, fruits, grains, legumes. Toss in a milkshake every couple days. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and make the meals more substancial. Don't just pick at the food you have to eat.

Actually you might want to try exercise to tone up which will make you weigh more and then eat more than you expend. Always eat balanced healthy meals-just a little more. There will come a time when you will find things going the other way and the weight starts to build and you don't want it so be careful. But put a little more on your plate and take several mouthfuls after you're full. It will come. Trust me. . .

peanut butter in milk blended it makes a thick smoothie but it tastes good. Also add any flavor of ice cream you won't just get fatter but it is gradual so you can stop gaining when you are pleased.

Ask your doctor. I'm not just being a smarta$$ by saying that, I actually have experience with this problem, and looking back on it, i realize i should have consulted a doctor about it.
