So it's New Years eve and I just had a visit from TOM (time of the month). I have the worst cramps ever and I am supposed to spend the night celebrating with my boyfriend and his family. Does anyone know a way to get rid of cramps that actually works!! Please help!

I would so like to add that these cramps are so bad that I can't really get out of bed. They are the make you hunch over in pain kinda cramps.

I know this is probably close to what everyone else says, but I know how you feel.
I have them horrible as well, to the point of, once, I was just lying in bed crying.
I take 2 Extra Strength Midol and 2 ibeuprofen, at the same time. Drink lots of water with that too. Some herbel tea before you go would also work alittle.
In the future, or if you still have cramps now, try walking around for a while or slow jogging. I know everyone says it and its the last thing you want to do but it works! If you can walk though, last month everytime I stood up I felt like I was going to be sick.
When you go somewhere though try to avoid sitting down for long periods of time, when nothings moving then you are in more pain. That goes for lying down too, it doesnt help. Walking as much as possible REALLY does help.
Good Luck. I just ran out of midol earlier today so im trying the best I can to not sit still. =]

Take a warm bath or use a heating pad, while also taking a pain reliever such as mydol or tylenol. If the heat gives you relief, you might go to the store; they have things that heat up and you can stick inside your underwear to keep heat on it all night (I think up to 8 hours and then they cool off). I can't remember the brand, but they are in a red box here and are in the pain relief section. They make them for backs, knees, etc., but they have a menstrual pain relief one that works well.

go to a doctor when you feel better,
he'll ask you some questions
and give you medicine that helps and is right for you.
dont go with birth control though, because you have to take it every singe day, and you'll gain weight.

800mg of ibuprofen (4 tablets of advil) every 6 to 8 hours. you can also take 1000mg of tylenol with that. If you've taken aspirin or aleve, you need to wait until you take the advil. Hot moist towels (in plastic bags) on your stomach and back. Good luck, I had cramps like that every month until my first kid. Labor wasn't as awful as those cramps!

For me when I have cramps I like to take some ibuprofen as well as drink some tea, ginger is nice for cramps. But also I like to heat up a heat bag or hot water bag and place it where my cramps are. The heat is soothing so it helps take away some of the cramping. Hope some of these ideas might help you. :D And hopefully you'll be feeling better for new years!

Orgasm - not kidding, really helps!
How you do it is up to you.
Also - Motrin every six hours with Tylenol halfway between doses; warm bath, and situps.
