You lose one unit of alcohol per hour.
So if you had, say 6 beers at 4%abv, that would be 12 units - 12 hours.
it would be your blood that would be tested, though.

"The ethanol disposal rate in a 150-pound human is about 0.5 ounce of ethanol per hour, which corresponds to 12 ounces of beer (1 can), 4 ounces of wine (1 glass), or once ounce of hard liquor (one shot). So, depending on how much you've had to drink, you can calculate how long it will take to clear the alcohol so that it doesn't show up in a urine screen."

It takes about an hour to get rid of each .01 percent of alcohol - actually that's for a blood test. are they actually testing for alcohol or just certain illegal drugs? - drink lots of water before hand to dilute it

it all depends on how much you drink and your water intake after the fact to determine how much gets flushed out of your system.
