Don't Report Me - you mean you'd give up the citizenship to your country over a president who is only in power for one more year? It's not so easy to restore if you want to come back... You're sure?

No. If martial law were declared or something of that sort, what would be the point in becoming a citizen of another country? The U.S. has a long arm, which you can't hide from its world influence. An individual has no right to try and change America unless he/she is a citizen. Anything negative that happens to America is an infection and not permanent, so why abandon ship when it just needs to be repaired?

I have had dual citizenship since birth and, if the U.S. declared war on the country of my other citizenship, then I might (it would depend on the reasons - which country was at fault, etc etc) give up my U.S. citizenship.
If the country became an unrecogniseable dictatorship and the Constitution was dissolved....yes,there are a few unlikely scenarios in which I can see myself turning in my passport. Hopefully they will never come to pass but we must always be vigilant.

No I would never, ever give up my citizenship. I was born and raised in this country and here I will stay. And PROUD of it.

I may visit other countries for a vacation, as any normal American citizen would do, but, I would not leave my country.

If I could be a UK citizen and live in Yorkshire with the "Last of the Summerwine" crowd. Otherwise, I will remain here on Fantasy Island and watch the Love Boat reruns until the cows come home.

I am very unhappy with the way the U.S. Congress has allowed things to become. But I will think about that tomorrow.

Only if US citizenship becomes something other than it is now. No nation is immune from corruption. I certainly hope that ours never falls away to despotism or other evil. Prolonged economic suffering can cause all manner of ideals to be thrown aside - and by a large majority of the people.

The people who opposed the Nazi party in Germany died or fled. This could be the choice for Americans someday. We have no constitutional barrier to a new political party that would bend our laws and nation to evil purposes.

It would take a lot more than a rotten president for me to give up my US citizenship. Now if the country as a whole degraded to communism or switched to a dictatorship then I am out of here. But for right now I will settle for our imperfect Republic and our corrupt politicians.

It is said that everyone has a price. Whether it's true in every instance is almost impossible to confirm. However, if compensated with a substantial amount of money to live off of in another part of the world in exchange for my citizenship, then it would be an offer I would find quite tempting.
