It made for a great game but I don't think I'd have keep my starters on the field considering the Giants have to play in the first round. As a coach you'd think getting ready for the playoffs would have been more important than a meaningless last game of the season. I guess it would be hard to not go for the win but if the Giants lose in the first round it will look bad if you ask me.

I guess the fact that they were up most of the game made it impossible to pull the starters. I know a win in this one would have been a huge confidence builder. Anyway great game and surly one that will be shown by NFL films for years to come. That second bomb to Moss was almost story book.

In the same position I'd have done the same. That fact that both teams played hard made this more of a historic moment.

I liked the fact they made the Pats earn the win and not hand it to them. It may turn out to me a moral victory for the Giants. Going into the playoffs they can carry a little bit of a chip knowing they hung with the big dogs of the NFL

yes I feel it was very important for the G-men to play the full game only for the experience of playing a high clibre team before going into the playoffs. now I also say that the teams that are resting their starters are more likely to be beat in the playoffs for disrupting their momentum into playoff contention

I know the reasoning behind keeping your starters on the bench and giving them healing time and rest but I admire the fact that they tried to become the first team to beat the Patriots and the way they played has got to add to their confidence of beating the first team they face in the playoffs.

It was a great game. I do agree with the coach to play their starters, however.

Yes i do agree, i think it helped the giants get into a playoff like game without actually playing a playoff game. It helped them evaluate were there team was going in2 the playoff. Kind of like a real good practice game. Even thought they lost they played well and this game should give them some momentum going in2 the playoffs. As far as history goes if the giants did win they would have been remembered as the team that bet the patriots.

I was a little iffy about whether the Giants should have played their starters but Im glad that they did. They played a really good game and came pretty close to beating the Patriots. They played hard until the very end. The way they played definitely didnt hurt their confidence.

you make some great points...im not sure about this one either..on one side if i were on the giants team i would absolutely LOVE to spoil the patriots undefeated season on the very last game..that would really feel great if you ask me, all things considered since week one..

but the other side of it...how stupid would they look if brandon jacobs or eli manning or plaxico burress had a season ending injury? that would be bad..

its seems to me that this question was left up to the players and not the coaches..i remember the announcers kept mentioning about how everyone WANTED TO PLAY in that game for the giants so i guess thats just how it goes..its the players decision and i think i like it that way..good question

I love the fact the Giants played their starters and made the final game so incredible, but, it cost them 3 starters for next week.

I would think it was a player decision to go all out dispite the risk. Cudos to them for taking the chance and I hope it didn't blow their playoff chances.

i agree with Patriots Fan 4 life.. the Giants knew that the pats werent gonna sit their starters... and rather than lay down and die they decided to stand and fight. a noble move on their part!
They did have us Pats fans worrying and biting our nails thru the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and this SHOULD give them the mentality they need going into the playoffs.
Kudos to the giants for tryin, and yes, like someone said, it further validates the Pats perfect season, because it wouldnt have been pretty had the Giants sat all their guys.

Absolutely. I think they should have walked away from that game w/ a lot of confidence they didn't have going into it. Eli, especially. They're not going far in the playoffs, anyway, but I think to play with a team as good as the Pats will give them the confidence to put up a good fight in the first round.
