how does the ranking system work on nba 2k8 on xbox live?

how can i get a high rank fast

my rank is higher in the hall of fame than in superstar, how is this so.....

The ranking system has never been fully explained so I'm not sure what criteria is used to determine rank.

The fastest I know of advancing in rank is by playing high ranked players if they are willing to give you a game. In most cases, most high ranked players are reluctant to play low ranked players because they are afraid of losing.
