Does it bother you that you can't go out?
I couldn't get a babysitter this year so won't be going out, but I'm not bother too much about it, maybe I really am getting old now! lol

I'm not going out,Gartom but not because I can't get a babysitter - in fact I normally *am* the babysitter!
I am sure that you will have a really good time whatever you do - New Year is sometimes overhyped (and don't remind me of all of that New Millenium nonsense!).
Anyhow I recommend No. 174 - the sweet and sour bamboo shoots with cashew nuts! (Ha ha) - and you can always go out on Chinese New Year but beware who you go with - it is the year of the rat! -

Edit : Ah,Kimberly Q - it will get better believe me - honest. It is a year to look forward to for you isn't it?

Check and see if you have a Crisis nursery in your area. Explain what has happened and ask if they can help sit your kids while you look for a sitter. Check to see if you have a child resource and referral network. A child welfare agency can probably tell you how to find licensed home day cares. Talk with your boss and explain you need to take a couple days off to look. I personally would be calling child services on her regardless of whether she was a friend or not. It's irresponsible to leave a child that young unattended. If you don't want to make the call then have her seen by the doctor. Explain the situation and have them make the call. She needs to get a dose of reality that you can't risk a child's safety that way.

i picked my kids up this morning from their dads, so i'm staying in tonight, but i'm pleased about that, i think going out on new yrs eve is overrated. its always really busy, takes you ages to get a drink at the bar, i think its shite, i'd rather stay in or go to a private party,
