I am currently on the pill the biggest problems is that I sometimes forget to take it at the exact same time (maybe 5-10 min. late) now I don't do you know what very often or anything, so I guess that why I don't worry about it sometimes but I know that theres always a chance I can get pregnant.
anyways I use to be on the depo shot which was great because I didn't have to worry bout getting prego the problem was that I was gaining so much weight with every shot. I'm thinking of switching to a diffrent method.

so I just wanna know what birthcontrols you woman are useing, your side effects, and experience

People get WAY too worked up over the "same time every day" thing.

As long as you are taking your pill every day, there is no need to obsess over the exact hour you take it. The risks of having an egg slip from taking it a few hours late is so low it isn't even worth discussing. The main reason they tell you to take it at the same time is for personal consistency - it's easier to remember to take it if you always take it first thing when you wake up or last thing before you go to bed.

There is no need to worry about pregnancy unless you miss a pill for an entire day. If that happens, double up your pills for the next day and use another method of birth control.

No method of birth control is 100% effective. So if you're really that worried about getting pregnant, then you should use a condom along with your pills, or use a spermicide, or both.

From 15 to 18 I used ortho tri cyc. but the hormones were too much and made me feel very sick so when I got my own doctor I started trying different ones. I used the patch for about 8 months and they only bad side effect was irritation to my skin (itching and coming unattached from my skin). It took about six months for the two areas where I put them to recover. The nuva ring is okay but sometimes comes out during intercourse (but you can just put it back in). I ended up on seasonale (the 4 periods a year bc) because my doctor suspected I had endo and I had really terrible periods so that really helped me reduce the pain. Hope this helps

I switched to Nuvaring for that reason, and I loved it. I am TTC right now so I have been off it for about nine months, but while I was on it, I was very happy with it. The only thing you have to remember is to change the ring every month, and you can leave it in all month to reduce your period.

I recommend it!

Ive heard the IUD's are great. I personally had my tubes tied after 3 kiddos, but I know several people with IUD's and they love them.

I'm also on birth control....as long as you take the pills every single day, its not a real big deal to take them at the exact same time. It is better but you wont be as likely to get prenant as long as you take them everyday.

If you forget to take them on a daily basis then being on time is probably more important.

Im on the pill and im constantly forgetting to take it, maybe hours at a time. But i always make sure my bf wears a condom when we have sex or anything like that. I recently had to change pill types because my doc suggested we try a dif pill because im getting older, i was on the yasmin adn we changed to something else and it gave me terrible headaches so now im back on the yasmin.

Don't worry about taking it 5 or 10 min. late. Just try to take it at about the same time each day. Stay on the pill, it is safer than other methods. Talk to your doctor about it.

Wrong section...these women here are generally pregnant or trying to get pregnant, not trying to prevent pregnancy.

Try asking in women's health

As long as you take within an hr of the same time everyday you should be fine.
I would forget to take it for a couple of days at a time so I went on the patch. It works great for me. I only have to remember to change once a week.
