I want to get the shot and I will probably go to planned parenthood. Has anyone had the shot? Any bad effects? How much does it cost?

The shot is going to cost you about $70 plus a $40 office visit fee. Plan on about $100...

It doesn't hurt as bad as regular shots because they don't need to get it into a vein, just under your skin is fine so they use the fleshy part of your bum or your upper arm.

It's good for 3 months and I noticed less side effects with that than the pill, which I am currently on.

The good part about it that you onle get a period about once every 3-6 months and it's pretty light! So YAY!

if you are bad about remembering your pill and ok with needles, this is the way to go for you!

Remember, it's good for 3 months, which is why it is so expensive! 3 months worth of pills is about the same price! ($25 a month x 3 = $75) So it all comes out in the wash!

I just got my shot on December 28, 2007 and it only costed me $30.00 and they only charge for the shot, not an office visit. It takes a whole 5 minutes tops at the office. I go to the planned parenthood in Cleveland, Ohio. I take the shot because I would forget to take the pill every day at the same time and plus I dont want to have children right now. I havent had a period in a year now. I see nothing wrong with the shot and if you have any questions regarding the price, call them up and they will tell you exactly how much it will cost. They are very helpful.

PLEASE don't get the shot.

Please read the reviews here:

and google "depo provera lawsuit" as there are several class action lawsuits against the makers of this drug for how horrible it treats a MAJORITY of women who take it.
