Christianity as in...the message of acceptance, love and inclusion as delivered by the historical Jesus Christ....no.
As in...the perverted version of that message practiced by the sexist, homophobic, judgmental, right-wing, "I've got mine, screw you" political version of Christianity on display in the U.S. and some other countries today, yes.
I have met many Christians who practice the first version. They volunteer, they forgive, they donate, they don't judge.
Unfortunately, the latter type give the former a bad name.

Overall, the Republicans are paternalistic and sexist in their policy making, but not all are. There are moderate Republicans, just like there are conservative Democrats.
As far as Christians go, some fundamentalist Christian extremists are extremely sexist, as well as homophobic. But there are plenty of Christians who are open-minded and tolerant.

Yes, sadly they both are. We can thank St. Paul, and St. Augustine, and not Jesus for the misogyny in Christianity.

Republican Party: The far-right wing of the GOP has a history of sexism. But for the most part, I'd say they were doing all right, at least by the standards of the two major parties (which isn't much, mind you).
Christianity: The Bible has some sexist passages, but the whole thing is so full of contradictions that it's impossible to take them seriously.

the only thing positive i can say about gw bush is that he willingly promotes women and other minorities. that said i do believe christian values have hindered political progress for women by limiting the scope of their own perceptions of self worth. if you are taught that your place is in the home you will not venture forth. it's a shame too, there are some very intelligent women who would make fine lawmakers, judges, and community leaders who will never persue these avenues based on their familial views.

there are sooo many other problems with the Republican Party (or any Party for that matter) and organized religion that are of bigger importance... like "paid" senators, black box voting, voting strictly on party lines and for religion you have child molestation, blasphemy in the form of 10% reqired for church membership... man, I could rant all day.
Sexism is more about a lack of social advancement... imo.

If submission thats described in the Bible were TRULEY followed then 'sexist' would be a nonissue.
Did you know that the word 'sex' was invented in the early 1900's?!
