I heard a rumour that a new xbox is coming q3 of 2008, the xbox 360 ultimate, with built in wi-fi, hddvd player, 320gb hard disk, new 65nm hardware architrcture and better and quieter cooling system.
It has been in production for 3 years, and with these specs it should end the ps3.
I want to purchase a console, I was always for sony, but lets face it the games are crap, online service is rubbish and now that there is NO backwards compatibiliy, I think ive changed my mind.
I would buy an xbox just now, but the ps3, specs wise is still better, but with the spec list of the ultimate with built in wifi and hddvd drive it will kill the ps3.
Is this rumour a load of sH!*3 ?? should i waste 8 months until autumn ? thanks!

Total lies, there isn't a system that can hold that much and if they actually did make one it would be about £1500 so there's no point in wasting your time because its not true.

I own both systems.. And so far I had more fun with the 360.. The ps3 is okay.. It does have some alright RPGs... And I stress the word alright... The 360 loses out graphically to the PS3 definitely but that doesn't mean the 360's graphic sucks.. It's just not as good.. But as for quality games the 360 has a better selection...My suggestion is the 360... Unless you're a graphic whore and really into the Sony exclusive such as Gran Turismo and God Of War 3.. But of course.. It is your choice...

My advice is ignore the PS3 fanboys.... they are only putting you off waiting....... The report came from a very reliable source at:
http://stuff.tv/News/BIG-IN-2008-Xbox-Ultimate/
These guys are never far away from being 100% correct with their information. The spec will wipe the PS3 of the planet.
I do not own a xbox 360 as yet but have used my brothers and online gaming is far better than his PS3..... Yes you pay a small fee with the xbox 360 online gaming but really the PS3 isn't even at the racing when it comes to online gaming....
So be wise hold of the Xbox 360 Ultimate will soon be with us and once again Sony will fail to dominate the world with their BluRay... they tried it with Betamax video tape and failed because they didn't listen to the market forces.

get this straight. blu ray is proven better than HD DVD. ps3 harddrive is removable and u can add a 1000 gb hardrive if u pleased. ps3 already has wifi and bluetooth. dont say games are crap cause 360 has way less variety and good games out.
MGS4, Kingdom Hearts 3, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden,
and much much more. and dont forget PS3 home. And free online with the same features as 360 and has a web browser.
my suggestion, dont wait that long for a system that might not come out. if it does, it still doesnt change the gameplay at all. think about if ur going to use 320gb. think of the future, not jus the present.
one more thing. PS3 has backwards compatibility. 80 gb should be able to play, if not all, then most ps2 titles. also, it doesnt change the fact that if that system were to be made, it would break down like the 360 did. 33% failure rate? and all they did was extend warranty while sony extended the lauch date to make sure everything was working properly? i lost respect for microsoft.

Lol, PS3 killer? You're better off just buying an xbox premium and buying the wifi adapter or an 80gb ps3 (since it has backwards compatibility) and just upgrade the hard drive. It would make a lot more sense and be a lot cheaper. And its not like the HD-DVD drive is gonna be used for games so its pointless, plus your risking the RROD. I highly advise you not to buy this unless you like Microsoft raping you out of your money.

well we have to wait and see for now i would still just get a 360 pro or elite and wait a few years and see plus then the price will come down and maybe upgrade and sell the system I have. but am sure that they have more plans on working on a new system that will come out in 7 or so years from now

Think about this:
Even with all the stuff that you say they're adding into it, how much do you think it's going to cost?
Most likely, about the same as a PS3 80Gb model, Which actually STILL HAS BACKWARD COMPATABILITY.
So if you really want a PS3, then I think you could justify it just from that.

I have heard nothing and as a gamer you should know one thing. Its all about the games and not the specs of consoles!
