Thats not good at all! Immediately call your Doctor because sudden swelling especially of the face represent pre eclampsia.

Oh, sweetie... you're almost there!!!

Swelling can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, so make sure you keep your appointment this week. Get lots of rest and drink plenty of water. Avoid soda if you can, or at least look for one that is sodium-free to help with the bloating.

Rest, rest, rest!!! baby will be here before you know it!!

Make sure you stay off your feet as much as possible, don't eat a lot of salty foods (as they can make you retain water as well), and have your blood pressure checked. A sure way to tell if you're headed for trouble is to check your BP. I had preeclampsia and although I don't remember the top number of my BP, I know the bottom was @100, which is very bad. If you don't want the extra expense, just go to a grocery store that has the BP cuff and do a prelim check. Also, sometimes the pharmacies will do it for you.

Swelling is normal during the end parts of pregnancy but if the swelling seems excessive to you or happens very quickly, or is accomanpied by headache or light headness, etc, you should contact your doctor asap.

Good luck! You're almost there!

It sounds like you are retaining fluid. You should probably see your Dr to make sure your blood prssure isn't elevated as well. If it is you could have preeclampsia. Good luck.
