My daughter has a bad head cold. Of course when she is on her cold stuff she is feels better. At my Church we are having a New Years Eve Party and she really wants to go but I am not sure if that is wise because of her being sick. My question is this, what do you think?

I think as long as she doesn't have a fever or a runny nose and seems ok that new years eve I would let her go but I would stay at the party also so if she does feel bad later you could take her home

I know with children its a hard decision to know what to do sometimes but I think you should listen to your own instinct and do as that tells you to

Keep her at home. Those head colds can be very bad. If she faints or needs to lie down she can do that at home.

Mom go by your six sense.

Happy New Year!

If she can't go to the party, make the party go to her..., ask the poeple from the Church to come and make a party at ur place only if u have enough space for them, or u could dress her up go and if she doesn't feel worse u could let her to go, if she will feel worse during the party u could take her home or maybe there's a sofa in the building party where she can lie on

If your child is sick, then no she shouldn't go. There are too many illnesses out there that are easy to spread to other people. Plus, what if she starts to feel bad at the church function? There will be other New Year's Eve celebrations. You could try to make a special celebration at home. Have her come up with some ideas about how it could be fun. Maybe have a movie marathon night. It doesn't all have to be boring, just because she is sick.

keep her at home. lie to her and say they canceled it. do something because if you bring her and she gets any sicker, she can get something serious and the you will regret it. promise her that when she gets better you will have your own little new year's party to make up for it. record the ball dropping so she could see it again or something...maybe go out to dinner with her friends...because i do feel bad but after all, she's SICK and she could get sickER

Keep her at home and make a fun night of it. She doesn't feel good and meds wear off.

you didnt say how old your daughter is . i think if you feel she is old enough and there is enough time to recover from being up late before going back to school why not let her go and as long as she does not have a fever !! my kids go back January 2nd !! soo they will not be up late tonight besides they are 10 and 12 .

she's contagious. it wouldn't be right to expose others to her cold. she should stay home.

Make her as comfortable as possible and let her go... The head cold just needs to run it's coarse. Stay at home abed will not make it go away faster. even if she was to have a fever. Thats just the body's was of fighting the virus... Medication does not heal a persons sickness, all it does is help fight the symptoms and make them comfortable... Let her go have fun...

Also viruses are contacted 1-2 weeks before people actually get sick. If any of her friends or family were to get sick from her, it would be before now. I'm sure she knows to cover her mouth when she coughs.
