I have recently put some screen wash in my cars water resevoir which has caused it to stop working. The water is basically just dribbling out of the jets. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this without the expense of going to a garage?
The car in question is a Hyudai Coupe (1997), please bare in mind when answering the question that I have a very limited car knowledge lol.

I have disconnected the tubes from the jets and no water is coming out at all so the problem must be at the pump end?

Just happened to mine and hopefully if the prob is the same it is a 10 minute job which you can do yourself.
The washer pump will probably be just a pushin fit to the reservoir. Pull it out and underneath is a rubber grommet/filter, pull this out and clean it.
I would swill the reservoir out with clean water to get rid of any more sludge.
Refit the filter and pump and replenish the reservoir with fluid.
My car is a Vauxhall, but most systems are similar.

This reads like you have run the resevoir empty and so you might have got some crud in the hoses or jets the easiest way to check this is to open the bonnet and pull the hoses off of the jets, make sure the bottle is full up and now try the washers if the water comes pouring out then it is your jets that are blocked and these are easy to clean, get a pin or thin wire and poke into the jets and give a good wiggle about and then again from the other side ( under the bonnet) then reconnect and all should be well.

Probably not the fault of the screen wash, the first thing to do is take a thin pin. Push it into the hole in the spray nozzle to see if the jets are blocked.
If this does not improve things, open the bonnet and find were the washer spray jets are. Pull the thin plastic pipes of the spray's and then test the washers again. If a stream of water does not come out of the end of the pipe then its possible that either one of the plastic pipes from the washer pump is nipped or the washer pump has failed.
You can get a replacement pump from your local Halfords and its easy to replace it.

There should also be a screen at the bottom of the tube that goes into the washer bottle. Clean it off if plugged.

The nozzles may be plugged. Remove the covering from a twist tie. Insert the wire in the end of the nozzle. Remove any debris. Inspect the windshield washer canister. If there contaminates within, then remove & rinse out. Install a ¼" plastic inline fuel filter on the discharge hose. Refill with new winter washer fluid.

If the water has not frozen... did you actually add the screenwash to water? It may be neat screenwash which can often create suds causing air bubbles in your pipelines. Try adding some clean water to the reservoir/bottle. The correct ratio will be shown on the screenwash pack.
