Whenever I get ahead I send money to either the Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Reservation or to St. Joseph's Indian School in the same area. How about you?

No but I've spent enough time and money at the Thunder Valley Casino, and other Indian casinos, with my Ex, over the years, that you can say that we/I have contributed a considerable amount to them.

I purchase goods made by Indians through the catalogs where the proceeds help them. It is their own organization (Southwestern Foundation). Sorry I can't remember the tribe.

This is really weird but I also donate to the St. Joseph's Indian School. They have sent me so many things that the children have made such as dreamcatcher key chains, note pads, etc. One of my gifts to family members at Christmas was a note letting them know that I donated in their names.

In a sense. I bailed a Din'e acquaintance from the Pine Hill Rez out of jail and loaned him my pickup to haul some firewood up to his place south of Pine Hill. He got drunk and picked up for DWI instead of hauling the firewood, ended up back in jail and my truck impounded.

I talked to him in jail, bailed him again [greater fool, I] and he used the keys he still had in his possession to steal the truck after I paid to get it out of impoundment.

Wrecked it somewhere out on the Rez and I never saw it again, then got himself arrested again for something else.

Last I heard he was still in prison.

I suppose you could say I donated money and time to help Native American peoples with that. Nowadays I try to keep it down to a can of Dinty Moore stew if I see them looking hungry.

Very commendable Wally, my hats off to anyone who gives to people of their own country.... Have got to tell you though; with respect to Native American tribes, I would be careful about giving to a tribe if they had a casino. Even though they have some tough legislation (each state is different), generally they make a boat load of money. If they are not moving that money toward their poor and sick it's a problem and I would hesitate to donate anything to that type of Native American Crook!
