My folks had two that they bought in Indiana and brought West to California when they moved here in 1949.

Yes, I remember those. Some of those heating coils would spring out, but they always still seemed to glow when you turned on the heat.I haven't seen one of those for years, and I am surprised. The antique/junk shop where I have my booth always has a little bit of everything! They still sell a newer version of heater/fan combos.

I guess they did not throw off enough heat to be popular in Minnesota. I never heard of them at all.
