Yeah, there are no more recommended medications for children under 2 years old. Companies took them off the shelf for possible overdosing. You can only treat the symptoms. For congestion use a suction bulb, saline nose drops, and a humidifier.

hey, colds in babies can last up to afew weeks... generally they only have a day or so of being VERY upset... Saline drops is a great way to clear the nose as it will encourage sneezing wich is how babies clear there noses which is probably why she is sneezing alot... I also reccomend taking baby into the bathroom with the shower on only hot, the steam will help to clear the airways.. I found that this really helped with feeding my daughter when she was blocked up as babies CANNOT breath through there mouths at such a young age... by about 5 - 6 months she should be able to. Also i would recommend trying some sort of menthol spray or balm rubbed on her chest Vicks Baby balsam is great or Rawleighs Menthol spray... Other things that help are raising the head of her cot with some books or I put a pillow underneath the head end of the mattress.... best of luck bubs should be fine... going to the doctor won't really help unless of course baby has a temp then definetly go but if it's jsut a blocked nose and a cough then doc can't really do anything...

I used a Calpol plug in Vapouriser. It clears little babies stuffy heads and it gave my daughter her first good night sleep in a week when she got her first head cold at 8 weeks.

Doesn't that make you feel impotent? You want to do something, but it is true, it will run its course. Relax ( if possible) and good luck.

Baby Vicks, Johnson's vapor bath and ocean nose drops. It's all you can do until they are two. Stock up and good luck.
