I always wonder:
where does the water go that goes down the drain in the sink?
where does the stuff go that goes down the toilet?
How do they get tap water clean enough for human consumption?
you see where I'm going with this.....

and I always wonder: how does TV work? how do images travel through space or wires?

Do you have any questions about everyday things?

Water from the sink: Goes straight to Disney World in Florida .... they need a lot of water for all of their water displays, fountains and for all those water parks they have .... :)

Toilet Water: Goes to France .... they use it to make Eau de Toilet water and other fancy French 'parfums' ..... :)

Tap Water: it is cleaned via 'Reverse Osmosis'.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) has become a common method for the treatment of household drinking water supplies. Effectiveness of RO units depends on initial levels of contamination and water pressure.

and finally .....

T.V. : There are little people living inside and they 'wake up' each time you turn your television on .... duh!!!
I thought everyone knew that .... you silly girl! :)

I usually just take them apart to see how they work. Let me warn you though, taking a cat apart will NOT tell you what makes them purr.

NO! Of course I didn't!

If you live in the city, what goes in the sink drain, & what goes in the toilet ends up in the same place. In the country, what goes in the toilet goes into a septic tank (where bacteria decomposes it over time), & what goes in the sink drain SHOULD go into a dry-well, because it contains detergents & solvents that would kill the bacteria that helps a septic tank work. I've never worked in a sewage treatment plant, so I don't know how they purify the sewage into drinkable water again. Where you were going with this line of questioning was to a loss of appetite! I also know the "how" of the workings of TV & radio, but you'd be reading until this time tomorrow IF I had the time to explain it [starting w/ the valence electrons of atoms in conductors, through resistors, capacitors & inductors of "tank circuits", resonant frequencies, not to mention cathode-ray tubes (the picture tubes)].....do you see where I'm going with this? Even though they're unique (meaning that there's nothing "everyday" about them), it's women that I don't understand, but I sure love the learning process!
