At school we use Mavis Beacon, and I really like it. It has lessons, teaching you about home row, etc., and then rewards you with a game if you do well. I want it to have lessons and stuff like that. The thing is, I don't want to pay much for it. I need it to be $15 or less. Please help. He is so slow and it drives me crazy! He is a teacher and needs to know how to type right. He is what people call a "hunt and peck" typer. Thanks in advance! Let me know if you have questions.

I don't really want a game, I need it to have lessons. I don't want it to be old, I want it to be relatively new. Thanks!

Why not an older version? Mavis Beacon is a good, fun way to learn... and older versions like version 15 or 16 can be found on Ebay for less than 10 bucks. You can get version 17 from http://www.broderbund.com/ at $20.00.

Oh, and he needs to know how to type "correctly".

there's a outstanding application spoke of as type to income, this is utilized by potential of many college structures and is likewise accessible to the everyday public. this technique is per tiers (from a million-14 i've got faith), the place the learner works on trouble-free fingering and keyboarding skills, on a similar time as increasing accuracy and velocity. My young babies enjoyed it, because of the "interest breaks" presented for the time of the ranges and how it replaced into geared to be relaxing. Unfortuanately, i'm unable to bear in suggestions who makes it! i be conscious of that it somewhat is accessible the two for macs and desktops.

Someone told me www.learn2type.com was decent, and free...but i've never used it myself.

Have you considered setting him up with an instant messenger program of some kind? I know that's how I picked up speed and really learned to type!

Try the children's section (I know, grrrr, makes you feel like a baby.)

Disney's Typing with Timon and Pumba
Captain Keyboard

I don't know if Office Max still sells it, but they had "Micro Type Pro". It not only taught you the keys with proper hand position typing, but it also helped you increase your speed and acuracy. Speed first, and acuracy later.
