I would like to say the Mets, but you have to go with the Boston Red Sox. Not only are they the best team right now; they have some of the best prospects in baseball, especially Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz. I do not think they will have any problem repeating. It is hard not to with Ortiz, Ramirez, Lowell, Beckett, Matsuzaka, and more. Also, they will be set to win the the Series in years to come. The Red Sox are by far the best team in the MLB.

In 2007 it was the Red Sox, mainly because they are the Champs.
In 2008, it is impossible to tell, but I am rooting for the Tigers. They really strenghtened their line-up and added a strong starting pitcher in Willis. Plus Jim Leyland is the man.

How can you not say it's the Red Sox? They were the World Series champs last year and easily the most balanced team in the majors with great starting pitching, the best closer in baseball, a great bullpen to support him, great clutch hitters, power hitters, young players, defensive guys (minus Manny), and a lot of depth. Until someone else steps up or they take a step down you can't argue against the Sox.

the tampa bay rays, the only reason we lost is because we had no pitching, but our lineup is stcked!! now that we have garza and signed more solid releivers signed, i honestly think we have a good chance at the wild card

It's obviously the Jays....at least, in my dreams.
Seriously, I'd have to pick one of our division rivals, the Red Sox. They're the defending champs, they led from wire to wire last season, and they should be equally strong again this year. There are plenty of challengers - the Indians and Yankees (with an improved young staff) come to mind - but for now I'd still go with the Sox.
