I lost my dad just after his 47th birthday more than 30 years ago, and it's still painful. So, Mom and I will have a quiet evening together, just as we do every year.
I've only spent one night out on New Year's Eve and decided I'd rather be cozy and comfortable in my quiet house, watching TV, with my mom and our cats. Crazy old catladies sure know how to celebrate!

I am 50 and missing my mom too. She has been gone for too long now. But holidays and birthdays make me think of her. Happy New Year to you.

I lost my Mum 37 years ago when I was 37 so I have been without her as long as I was with her. There's no one like your Mum and I miss mine every day, there's always things I want to ask her and I can't. My sympathy is with you.

Sorry to hear you are sad.
I miss my Mother also...that is a feeling you will never get over.
And to be truthful I never want to get over it...the pain will ease with time though.
~~Wishing you the best in 2008~~

I don't think we ever get over losing our moms. As time passes, it does get a little easier, though. My mother died in 1984 and I still get weepy once in a while. I am sorry for your loss.

Lost mom about 2 years ago -- I empathize with you, it's something that really hurts -- don't know that I'll ever get over it, it just isn't as sharp of a pain. God Bless and comfort you. May the New Years bring you peace and happiness.

I lost my mom in 2002 but she's with me everyday. I get more like her everyday too. Of her six kids, I look like her, sound like her and am much like her. I have a little sign on a tiny plate on my kitchen window that reads...
Mirror, mirror on the wall...
I'm like my mother after all.
I think of her everyday and I copied out pictures of her in her youth and send them to my many neices in the Christmas cards. Pictures they never saw and have mom to thank for their good looks.
Good health, no bills and Happy New Year to all.
