Yes. I got my knowledge from looking at books from the library on patinas. There are several categories - patinas on paint for walls, which you can get info on from any paint store or the paint dept in Walmart. Then there are patinas on metal caused either by applying a chemical on the surface or through natural sources of weather (rain, sun, etc) on the metal. You can find info about either by surfing the net or looking in library.

If metal is involved, yes. If the patina is the accumulated grime on an old object only little.

do you mean the finishing on various surfaces? if that's the case, I know about some of them!

I'd rather have clean metal personally but I guess if it was done properly then a patina could work in some instances.
