I believe it's why Kerry lost. It wasn't so much they liked Bush's policies better, it was that Kerry would not be more specific than "I will do it smarter and better". That can get you through the Primaries, but is a bit weak in the General.

I do not have the time nor inclination to research candidates. Nor can I afford a private secretary to do that for me. Therefore, since watching them on TV answering softball questions with vague slogans and scripted bs, I have decided to 1) vote against all incumbants, 2) rely on good luck by flipping a coin and being half right.

no, it is unrealistic to think otherwise, when these issues are so complex.

Even if you don't support the candidate, look at the ideas, and force your candidate to acknowledge them. It's not the person, it's the message.

It sure does bother me. That is why I see no one presently running that I can agree with!!!!! Some honest, back to the constitution, answers questions with honesty and forthrightness better run as an Independant. At the moment from their answers and actually looking at their voting records, etc, etc............we as a country are in very DEEP TROUBLE. Let's take back our Government people!!!!!

Look more into the candidates track records on voting or writing bills to be made law to find a true stance on the issues.
Not what they are saying now but what they have done.

Ron Paul is not vague on any of the issues you mentioned except for the "crisis in Pakistan." The only reason for that is because Pakistan hasn't applied for statehood yet and is therefore someone else's problem.

It bothers me that they never actually answer anything.
What bothers me more is that the media has no spine and wont pressure them to do better.

I often wonder if a candidate just came out and was honest about everything if people would vote for them. You'd think so but there are so many special interests who can't see beyond their own single issue. Unfortunately for the rest of us, we live in a multiple issue world. I'm not inspired by any of these candidates.
