If you can have comfortable home, good home entertainment, travel a bit, take classes for fun etc. stay home and have enough to do so, would you?

That would probably be most of the population (there are some though who derive satisfaction from their work)...
It's not how the world works though...
Mel: Is not learning about the rest of the world through travel and enjoying life not purpose enough ? I sincerely doubt the meaning of life is contributing to society though a 9 to 5 job...

I quit my job about fours years ago because I got sick. Since then I have been working from home and only accepting assignments that I want and when I need extra cash. It is very fulfulling and I am my own boss. I can travel, sleep and do as I please. I am very close to being a single woman and being at home in this situations will be very fun and ever more worth not having to go in to a job.

I would, but I would volunteer, or take up a part time job at some place meaningful. It would allow me at least to not have to worry about money, but keep myself busy and feel like I'm doing something for the world.
