Thoughts are actually the (emergent) products of material objects (brains). Take out the amygdala, for example, and say bye-bye to fear...
We are simply "fooled" into thinking (irony intended) that thoughts are not material because of the illusion of our 1st person experience.

In his book, Hidden Messages in Water, Dr. Emoto claims that showing words to water affects their later crystallization, depending on the "thought" behind the word. Who knows is this is correct, but everything in this universe is linked, so it could be possible.
