In Physics theory the String is made up of little bits of matter put together in such a way that it vibrates.
See" Strings theory "for the sub dimensions of a String.
Note the Schwartzchild radius of an electron is calculated to be in the order of 10^-58 meters. Hence the element of a string would have to be smaller.
