So your good Earl received a letter through the post informing me I had won some Spanish lottery I have never heard of...all I had to do to claim my winnings was send off my bank details...yeah right...
It is obviously a scam.
I'm sure I heard once that you can report these things to help stop them. Citizens advice? Trading standards? What do you reckon, hmmmm?

Post it on http://www.419legal.org/ ... no governmental agency is going to DO anything with any information you forward them... Also, if it's from a yahoo or hotmail account, turn on your full headers and forward a copy to abuse@yahoo.com (or hotmail)... This won't really DO anything except get THAT account turned off... a 3 minute inconvenience and perhaps they lose their list of victims!

There is advice available on both the National Lottery Commission and National Lottery websites although both are fully aware of these scams from Spain and Africa.

Send it back in an envelope with no stamp, if there's an address, if theres a return envelope use that. It costs them nothing if you throw it away.
